Border Collies can be almost any color, including red, blue, seal and completely white.
Border Collies show a large range in size and coloration because historically they were bred as working stock and focus was placed on performance, not looks.
The Border is excellent watchdog and alert you if the postman arrived, a burglar come, or a squirrel. Someone can become nuisance barkers.
A Border Collie currently holds the Guinness World Record for Fastest Car Window Opened by a Dog. Striker, a Border Collie from Hungary, opened the non-electric window in 11.34 seconds.
Border Collies are famous for their work in sheepherding, including sheepherding trials; a Border Collie fancier, Mr. R.J. Lloyd Price, is credited with the institution of sheepdog trials in 1876.
In the second half of the 19th century, Queen Victoria spotted a Border Collie and became an active enthusiast (at this point, the divergence between our modern Collie and the Border Collie began).
The Border Collie was first classified as the "Scotch Sheep Dog".
